Where your journal lives and when we nudge you

Vault folder

Daily entries are written to <folder>/YYYY-MM-DD.md in your Obsidian vault. Type to filter the list, or enter a new path.

New-entry template

What a brand-new day's entry opens with — your own prompts. Use {date} anywhere to drop in the day's date. Clear the box to restore the default.

Daily mood reminder

Get a friendly nudge to log how your day went — reply right in chat (tap a face) or from the email. Recorded ratings fill in your year-in-pixels grid.

Day cutoff

When you message the diary in chat, your words are saved to that day's entry. A message sent before this time counts as the previous day — handy for late-night journalling. Recommended: 03:00. Shown in your timezone (UTC — set a timezone in the reminder above to use your own).

Editor

Diary entries use the same rich Markdown editor as Plan. Switch back to the plain textarea if you prefer raw Markdown.

Ideas

Wrap a sentence in double dots — ..like this.. — while journaling and it's captured as an idea in Ideas, linked back to the day. A run of three dots (an ellipsis…) is left alone.

Import from Pixels

Moved from the Pixels mood app? Export your data there (Settings → Export entries) and upload the JSON file here. We import every day's 1-5 mood into your year-in-pixels grid, and each day's notes into <folder>/YYYY-MM-DD.md. Re-importing the same file is safe: moods update in place and the imported note block is replaced, never duplicated.
